Serendipity Cafe Performing Musician Agreement
We'd like to begin by thanking you for sharing your musical talents with us here at Serendipity Cafe. We have done our best to keep these policies to the bare necessity, but, that being said, they are important so please take a moment to read and abide by them.
1. If you are planning to perform with multiple musicians, please be mindful of our limited space. If your group changes substantially from what you booked please talk to us in advance since the size of the band performing affects how we set up our space and how we schedule our staff for "After Hours" Events .
2. Please do not expand your show beyond a musical performance without consulting with us first. For example, prior to planning to simultaneously host a tupperware party, etc., it is necessary to okay this with us.
3. If you prefer to bring your own equipment, please respect our physical space. We have had instances of substantial damage to our floor in the past. Damage of this nature is costly and inconvenient for us (just like when our equipment decides to run off). If you are unsure about what equipment we have available, or if your equipment will fit properly, please don't hesitate to give Johnny a call or text! His cell is 508-215-8052.
4. While we do our best to promote your show via our own website, social media, and signage (table tents, events board) within the cafe, we expect and encourage you to participate in the promotion of your show!
We know that for many of you the above is common sense, and we appreciate that greatly, as well as your willingness to share your time and talents by playing music at our cafe. We're incredibly appreciative of your contributions to our music community.
By booking a show at Serendipity Cafe you acknowledge to the below compensation (in addition to a meal and beverage).
Sunday Brunch Shows: $50
Potential Compensation for Saturday "After Hours" Events and other Special Events is determined on an individual basis.
In addition, we encourage you to put out a tip jar and mailing list, sell merch, and let folks know where to keep in touch with you.
While it is advantageous to inform the audience of the location of your tip jar and merch at various intervals throughout your performance (and we encourage you to do so) please do not badger the audience or directly approach the cafe's customers for money or tips.
If you need help "passing the hat" or prefer to be introduced to the audience feel free to ask for the assistance of staff or management.
