Our food Allergy mission statment:
After being diagnosed with allergies to peanuts & soy in her early 20's Laura is familiar with the frustrations a food allergic person goes through to find safe food outside of the home. We are always willing to do whatever we can to accommodate a food allergic guest in our cafe, however, we will also be the first to let you know if we have concerns about being able to serve you safely.
We are peanut, soy*, fish & Shellfish free!
As with any severe food allergy, please feel free to speak with us directly about it. We make the vast majority of our items in-house from scratch but for the few items that we do not make it is important to note the following: 1. Annie's Gluten Free Bakery, who provides our retails Gluten Free baked goods, does use peanuts & peanut products in their kitchen. We do not sell any of Annie's peanut varieties, and these items come to Serendipity already packaged, and are displayed in their own covered case. 2. A very small percentage of ingredients such as white chocolate chips do contain soy lecithin. 3. We are always happy to go over any items ingredients with you in detail either before or after your visit. Please contact Laura or Johnny directly. hobsonshomemade@gmail.com

TREE NUTS
**IF YOU HAVE A SEVERE TREE NUT ALLERGY THAT IS SENSITIVE TO CROSS CONTAMINATION, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU EAT THE SERENDIPITY CREPES.
WHEAT ALLERGIES & GLUTEN FREE:
We have several items on our menu that are Gluten Free, either by virtue of the fact that they do not contain wheat or other gluten containing grains, or by virtue of the fact that they are available on Gluten Free bread. If you are ordering Gluten Free in our establishment, our team will ask you if you are affected by cross contamination. This is NOT to challenge your reason for ordering this way but IS to allow us to ensure that we can serve you SAFELY and make sure you have the information about the way we prepare your food to allow you to make the safest ordering decision that you can. Some folks who have celiac disease and are abstaining from Gluten can be harmed by even the slightest cross contamination, and this is why we have this discussion with each customer who orders Gluten Free. We Thank you for allowing us to serve you safely. It is very important that you are aware that we have an in-house NON-GLUTEN FREE bakery. This means that we do use wheat flour on our premises and there is a cross contact issue with wheat & gluten in our establishment. We offer Gluten Free items for our customers that spoke vocally about having these as options but we do not hide, and are very vocal about the fact that we do have a traditional bakery, which is the base of our business, on premises.
